first of all i'd like to thank jessica of www.almondtofuplease.blogspot.com for nominating me for a blog award. The liebster blog award. Haha its kind of funny because i hardly blog. And its even more funny because i don't have many readers! Although one time i noticed one person from alaska viewed my blog. Random much? lol! I think i blog mostly for myself so i can remember things and associate pictures with certain events. i'm too lazy to print out pictures and scrap book or whatever so i like to digitally record things. Anywho, since i'm fairly new to the blogging world. I don't think i'm qualified to nominate anyone for the award, since i follow a grand total of two people. But maybe i'll try to blog more this year. No promises, since i'm busy usually, but i'll try!
Anways segue into the new year! its that time of year again. the annual holiday slump... :( after two weeks of non-stop christmas music, seasonal dishes and family get togethers, we come to january 7. Which is just an awkward day in general. Its not quite in the holiday season, its not quite in the new school year. Its just january 7th. On top of that, the lack of snow makes, makes the weather feel not quite winter-y. Its just in that awkward in between, random warm spell in the middle of winter day.
I think the mood is best illustrated by the song "Boxing Day" by Relient K. Even though its technically not boxing day, the song reminds me of how gloomy I am when i'm forced to tuck away my synthetic christmas tree for another year.
Anyways, i like to reminisce about how wonderful christmas was by looking at the pictures i took. Namely pictures of food and stuff. These are some pictures from our annual super asian potluck!!! Errbody bring yo wives, bring yo husbands, yo grammaws, yo granpaws, yo children, yo babies, yo nieces, yo nephews, yo foreign exchange students, yo boyfriends, yo bestfriend's great uncle etc etc etc. jk. but there were tons. of. people.
I think these look like chocolate turds. but they are , in fact, chocolate truffles and taste quite nice.
Dark Chocolate Pirouettes and peppermint bark. Heck yeah!
Do you see how many shoes there are? That's how many mouths we had to feed during our fun asian potluck. OVER 50 PEOPLE. (children included)
bok choy! staple of every potluck, besides cucumbers of course.

I want some of that peppermint bark!
ahh everything looks so delicious :o I love reading your posts. seriously. they have soo much personality and humor in them ahahaha. I hope you continue to blog...it's so hard to find naturally written posts like this these days.
