Meh :/

This is the mood i feel. just awkward. meh.. My parents are just so odd sometimes. Recently my dad has been bugging me about dating and boys and such. Contrary to most parents, he wants me to be dating. He wants me to hangout out with guys. ISN'T THAT CRAZY?? i mean he spent the whole time during my high school years asking me to be a hermit... DEMANDING THAT I ABSTAIN FROM CAVORTING WITH THE MALE GENDER. my junior year, he positively asked me to stop going on facebook, stop emailng friends, stop using my phone, stop texting, stop hanging around after school to talk to people and just study. literally. one day, my dad and i went out to eat for dinner and he told me during that lunch that it was inappropriate to be friends with boys and that i should focus on my studies first. Yes i get that he was worried by the swirling vortex of hormones that is high school... i was basically raised to be wary of boys and avoid them at all costs. hello girls club forever much? but now my dad's perspective has flipped 180 degrees. No girl friends to hang out with? no problem, call up a random guy on your contacts list, go hang out with him! In a way i feel relieved that my parents are giving me this kind of freedom to make friends, yet it also opens doors to so many things i have never experienced before. So i'm not exactly eager to dive head first into this new found liberty. Its just that after all this time, its hard to completely change my behavior and attitude! Dad, don't look so disappointed that i've failed to hook a boyfriend so far! friendship and dating take time to build up. and trust me, its gonna take me a lonnnnng time.. bah I might be on my way to spinsterhood! yay! jk. but seriously things like this take time, and for now all i feel is awkward.
